Here, scholars can carry out research, and children and young people can take part in projects.<\/p>\n<p>The literary estate of the writer Hans Fallada, which was purchased by the East German Akademie der K\u00fcnste (Academy of the Arts) in 1978, forms the basis of the archives. In 1995, it became the property of the state of Mecklenburg-Western-Pomerania. Among other things, the estate includes the manuscripts of some of Fallada\u2019s novels, such as the handwritten manuscript of his most successful novel Kleiner Mann, was nun? (Little Man, What Now?), correspondence (including some 2000 letters from and to Fallada\u2019s publisher Ernst Rowohlt,) autobiographical and journalistic pieces, reviews and personal documents. This inventory of manuscripts, books, photos and letters has been augmented by the collection of Neubrandenburg\u2019s Literaturzentrum (Literature Centre), which has been in existence since 1971 and, over several decades, has placed further Fallada documents and objects at the public\u2019s disposal. It is particularly due to the support of Anna Ditzen, Fallada\u2019s first wife, and his sons that important archival documents have been collected that provide insights into the writer\u2019s life and work. They include family letters, Fallada\u2019s work-day calendars from 1933 to 1943, and an extensive collection of photographs. Other private individuals have entrusted to the archives documents such as Hans Fallada\u2019s school reports, original handwritten manuscripts (e.g. an early epic love poem), and comprehensive collections of books, including a large number of foreign editions of Fallada\u2019s works. The Literaturzentrum continues to collect newspaper reports, reviews, academic papers and other publications about the writer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"extlink\" title=\"zum Literaturzentrum Neubrandenburg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.literaturzentrum-nb.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Literaturzentrum Neubrandenburg e.
